Our story began in 2025 with what was essentially an impulsive decision. Father-and-son team Matthew Bishop and Brian Bishop bought a bare rolling chassis in Hudsonville, Michigan—looking at it with the hunch that it could turn into something special.
At the time, we didn't fully know how to build a Bronco from scratch. But we paired Brian’s background as a mechanical engineer with Matthew’s relentless curiosity and desire to learn, stepping into the garage determined to bring this classic piece of machinery back to life piece by piece.
Cataloging, sourcing, and purchasing every single necessary part across the truck’s full automotive architecture proved to be a massive challenge. We quickly realized how difficult it was to navigate vague listings, missing hardware, and poorly fitted reproduction components.
However, pushing through that struggle forced us to carve out an incredible attention to detail for every subtle nuance of every component inside the Gen 1 Bronco. Overcoming that restoration hump gave us a deep appreciation for precision engineering and a mastery of how these vehicles fit together.
Stepping back to admire our finished, beautiful Candy Apple Red truck wasn't just the end of a build—it was the start of Bishop Broncos Shop. Today, we channel that exact attention to detail into designing, sourcing, and creating parts for fellow Bronco builders and restorers across the community.
